my husband had a judgement against him for $25??.00 i went to pay off they gave me a balance owing 2300.00. and gave me a reciept showing zero balance owing on this account. now they are calling saying the girl made a mistake, that she should of called the main office for the balance. but she pulled our account up on there computer, even went to two computers to make sure before telling me what is due. do i have to pay the difference? they say the difference is the court costs? can they take him back to court for this amount?

Go to the court where the judgment was entered, get a copy of the judgment. It will state the amount of the complaint and if interest, court costs and attorney's fees were awarded. Unless a satisfaction has been filed with the court, you still owe the balance minus what you have paid (along with interest on the judgment, if allowed by your state).
