jury duty

I received a summons to appear for jury duty. I gave this summons to my employer 3 wks before time to serve. I was selected for a 4 day trial. My employer called me to work, which was an unscheduled day, she knew I had jury duty that morning, but told me to come in and work or I no longer have a job.

So. Carolina - The dismissal or demotion of employees who serve on a jury is prohibited. ref. SC Code Ann. 41-1-70
