Hello. My name is Vivian Bouler. I recently purchased a Kirby vacuum at the end of December. I was not made aware verbally that you are only allowed a three day cancelation period. I have tried several times contacting Kirby to see if I can return it because I can not afford this vacuum. I'm a college student in nursing and I just loss my father to a sudden death and now I have more on me than I can bear. If there is anyway I can get them to take it back I will be extremely grateful.
 
Alabama does not appear to have its own laws about the 3 day cancellation right so you'll have to study up on the federal law which you can read about at:

Did the sale occur at your residence or did you buy it at a store?

What do you mean "tried"? Did you call and not get through? Did you talk to somebody who said "no"? Did you read your purchase contract to see if there are any cancellation terms that might help?

Unfortunately, by owning it and paying for it for 7 months you might have eliminated any help that the lack of notice might have for you.

Try contacting the FTC for additional information.
 
What does your contract say about a cancellation period? When did you first try to get them to take it back?

It probably would have been best if you hadn't posted what seems to be your actual name in the body of your post due to trolls etc. that frequent forums.
