L.A. County Child Disbursement Misplaced/Lost My Money

I'm not sure where I should go with this.

This is not an ex not paying support issue.
This is an ex paying the full monthly amount due but the state/child disbursement misplaced my money.
I'm the custodial parent and also the recipient of alimony.

My ex's employer sent the full amount of $2,323.00 of my alimony and child support to Child disbursement here in California. The county involved is L.A.
The check was cashed and only $1323.00 dollars were deposited into my bank account. $1,000.00 is missing.
I have contacted the state child support agency and they told me they only collected the $1,323.00. I have the original check # from my ex's work and what they deposited into their state fund was indeed $2323.00.

I have gone over this with the reps, the facts are there and easy for them to see but they still insist the check was for $1323.00.

Disbursement reps/state reps for a private case are not helping me although my ex's work confirms this amount through their canceled check.
They told me at first my ex's payments shouldn't be sent as one payment but divided. That doesn't do anything with the issue my money is missing.
They are working on that issue but not my missing funds.

Where do I go with this?
Who can help me get my money back?

I have never let my daughter go hungry before but today, she went to school with no breakfast and no dinner last night or tonight.

I'm am in a complete panic.
I filed Bankruptcy last month and thought this would be my first month in years were I can sit back and breath a little financial wise and now this.

We will lose phone service in a few days and other utilities as well. These payments were supposed to be made up this month.
Now I have nothing and my rent check will be cashed any day now.

Again, where do I go with this?
How do I fight something so easy to fight with no money and against a state agency?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Gale

I'm not familiar with the SDU, but this seems like an issue between the state and your ex's employer. I realize you're caught in the middle, but it doesn't sound like the SDU is going to budge. Is it possible to file a motion for contempt against the employer, and let them battle it out with the state?

Sorry, kind of lost this site for a while

I do agree this is an issue between my ex's employer and the state.
But, that means the employer hasn't paid me for their error.

They should not have send my alimony to the state Child Disbursement area. It was there error in doing so, don't you think?

Child disbursement says they have nothing to do with alimony and can't find the over payment.
Meanwhile I haven't been paid and I'm tired of trying to fight both the state and my ex's employer who doesn't think it's there responsibility to find the missing funds either since they paid "someone".

Who do you think I should go to for help recovering my missing money.
This will happen again in the months to come.
My ex's employer refused to issue a check to me separately for alimony sending it and my child support to the state.
They say I need a court order to issue a separate check for my alimony and have it sent directly to me.

The state won't get involved in any of this even though they are getting my money.
My issue is with my ex's employer. I just don't know where to go for help
