I just moved into a home Nov. 1, 2006 and have been paying rent as scheduled. However, I recently found out that my landlord passed away the day after christmas. I spoke to his mother and she informed me that the house will be given back to the bank and then foreclosed. When the house goes back to the bank, do I still have to pay rent? Who would I then have to pay it to? This is a very confusing and frustrating situation for me as I have a young child at home and really don't know where all this leaves me as a tennant. The bank can't really answer any questions for me; seen as I am just the tennat. If anyone has any information that may help me, I would greatly appreciate the advice. Thank You! Kim

Yes, if you rent a place, then you have to pay rent.

Go to the bank.

Talk to somewhere there.

If they tell you something, ask them to put it in writing.
