Landlord Issues

I have multiple issues with my landlord.

The first is regarding amenities. What happens if the landlord takes away amenities (such as a gym) that were there when you first moved in, but do not exist anywhere in the lease?

Additionally, If they move you out before the end of the month at the end of your lease, should they prorate your rent for that month? After all, you have paid for the entire month.

What state are posting from? Check out your Landlord/tenent laws for your state. They are moving you out as in forcing you too leave before end of the month you paid for? If yes under what circumstances/

It's CT. I did look up the rental laws online and i couldn't find anything regarding an (forced) early move-out. But if you look at it simply like a contract, if you are paying, for example, $1000/month or $12,000/year, than doesn't it make sense that if the service is provided only for a certain percentage of the time that you should pay proportionately?

If your lease ends on X date then they cannot move you out earlier. You have a right not only to a prorated amount but also for an unlawful eviction if they take any steps to move you out earlier without your consent or agreement. I'm assuming none of this is referred to in your lease and I've never seen something like it in a standard form lease. If you really want to put some fear into the landlord you can tell him you're going to discuss it with the Department of Housing. ;)

Good luck with this.

what happenes when u have a signed lesase only month to month and your water stop's running and the landlord wont fix it and you have three kids and three jobs 6 days a week and you call to all local offices right up to your local senator's office and and ask what can be done and no one has an answer not even the local health department,, i have money save and cant find a place.. most say no kids or pets then what !! but in the interum no one seem to think running water is important or important enough for children.. thank god for my boss's and my friends for donation of showers daily and donation's of water from them.. until i get a place ... what happens when the landlord d knowningly shuts the water off to remove a tenent quickly when there are kids involved.. when i am current with my rent and have a lease????? pls sassy
