Landlord Leases Extra Room without Consulting with Current Tenants

I just received a phone call from the landlord to expect a new roommate to move into an unoccupied room starting next week. The current tenants occupying the two other rooms have NOT been consulted prior to this unilateral decision from the landlord.

Don't the current tenants have a say about this situation since we are the ones going to live with this third person? Do the tenants have the right to "veto" the landlord's choice and find a more suitable/agreeable roommate?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.
