landlord talks to NON tenant

I have been sick and in and out of the ER for the last 2weeks. Today my landlord came by to complain about the dog mess in the back yard. A friend of mine answered the door since I was sleeping. The landlord proceeded to yell at my friend about the state of the yard and then finished with "I'm going to evict her". Is he allowed to tell things like that to my friend? I live in public housing if that changes the laws any. please let me know if there is anything I can do about this. Thanks.

No, there is nothing you can do about this. There is no law against your landlord telling your friend this information. Actually, it appears they were trying to warn you that unless something is done about the dog poop, further action will be taken.

Ask your friend to help with the yard cleaning.
