My jurisdiction is: Lake Forest California
I purchased a dry cleaners 6 months ago and realized this is not the business for me. I am 23 and have no assets so the landlord wanted an additional 5K along with a $2,800 deposit. I have found a buyer that qualifies for a $2,800 deposit, but the landlord wants to keep the deposit at $7,800. This is a deal breaker for the business and I have no option but to fold the business if the new buyer does not take over. Is there anything I can do to get the $7,800 deposit back or at least the 5K. Please help as I have already lost over 30K in the business and I am in debt up to my neck. Thanks.
