Landlord Won't Perform Repairs

Hi, hope that somebody can give me a word of advice on my problem.

I live in a rented apartment on the 3rd (last) floor of a building. The roof is leaking and one of the corners gets wet every time it rains or if it snows and the snow starts melting. I have contacted the landlord about this issue multiple times and nothing has been fixed. That corner and edges of both walls have been water damaged with strips of paint hanging off and mold residue clearly showing. The ceiling (drywall) in that corner is also water damaged and it's clearly starting to sag down. It is apparent to me that the landlord is only concerned with collecting the rent on time and will not perform any repairs in the near future.

Should I contact the company that owns the apartment complex and demand some sort of a monetary settlement since I've been living in a leaking mold infested apartment and the landlord has made no effort to fix the roof and the leaking corner?

Thanks in advance for any advice.

How have you contacted the landlord? Make sure it is in writing and next time send him or her a certified return receipt letter stating you want the roof fixed immediately. Take pictures of the damage...clear pictures. Enclose in the landlord's letter the pictures and send a copy of the letter and pictures to the management company telling them what you told us in the post. Leave out the part about a settlement though. You haven't done everything you need to do first to even ask for a settlement, plus you haven't suffered any damages to your personal property or health. At least you didn't state in your post that you did and I believe you would have if you had suffered any personal damages. Don't make any up now in the hopes of a settlement. That would be fraud.
