I got judgement against me. I want to know if they can take my car because its the only asset I have. Also want to know if they can levy my wife bank account, she isn't at the lawsuit. Thanks
You can designate personal property with an aggregate value of up to $60,000 (for a family) as exempt from garnishment. Your car could be part of that designation.
If your wife was not party to the lawsuit, and the account is not jointly held with you, it cannot be garnished. (That might not stop them from trying.) But don't hide any assets you have in her account - transactions intended to defeat creditors can be overturned.
