My son is 16 and have been working part time at my local gym for a year now in the kids room. My gym has been purchased by a large fitness company and he have been told that he needs to be 18 to be employeed by them, but he has been working there part time for a year now. They refused to interview him for his old postion. Is this legal ? Is he entitled to some kind of serverence pay ? Do they need to inform him in writing that he has been fired or layed off ? I feel that he has been treated unfairly and very unprofessional.
