Lease agreement question

If I had a lease agreement with one property manager and the owner was unhappy and transferred to another property manager...who is my lease with? the first property manager that I signed the lease with or the manager that took over or the owner who is not listed on the lease at all?

Your lease is with the owner, his successor, or assigns; unless you sublet! An assignee can be a property manager or the manager's agent. Then your lease is with the original leaseholder in course.

Read your lease, it should all be described for your edification. If it isn't, there could be a problem or two.

If they are representing the owner should this be outlined in the lease? I was under the impression I have no agreement with the owner only with the leasing company.

Can the 2nd property manager extend the original lease when he is not on the original lease?

Should we have done a brand new lease with the new property manager after the original lease was over?
