Lease Options?

I have an apartment lease. I have complained 3 times in the past 8 months about an odor that has been here since day 1. The Complex sent in a worker to investigate a month and a half ago, and he said" it's bad". Yet, the complex has Done nothing about trying to fix the problem. I'm not sure if it is mold in the walls, which is a health concern. Can I withhold rent until the problem is resolved? Are they obligated to put me in another apt? What are my options? They keep ignoring the problem.

Before you jump into legal trouble find out what problems is first. Contact the Health Department if need be to get assesment. Contact a Tenant/Landlord Attorney and find out your rights. If you act in a manner that the law forbids you become the bad guy and it can cost you plenty.

It's also a very, very good idea to put all requests and concerns in writing so you have documentation that you did this.
