I have lived in a manufactured home community for over 10yrs, i have always had my lease renewed. This last year has been hell, the property manager has not fullfilled his duties to the tenets. I have had so many problems especially with a septic system that hasnt worked, i have called everytime there is a backup, and all he did was drill a hole in the exposed septic pipe and tell us he would fix it this spring, and would just keep coming back to snake it out. He actually let the back up from the septic sit in my tub, sink, and toilet for 3 days. I finally had enough, and called ny state health dept, they came out told him it must be fixed, he did a week later, and now has refused to renew my lease because i am a trouble maker and have defamed his reputation.He now sends us warning letters about having a 2nd vechicle parked more than 20 mins, infront of my home (letter came a few days after health insp. was here), yet others in park put more than 1 vechicle in front of thier home over night, Our bills are always paid on time ( water, septic , rent) we have the best kept lot in the park, we obide by his rules. we have even painted our home to look new. The new lease he has sent out to others is just a piece of paper with things he wants you to do, and sign to agree with his rules, there isnt even any written document about park rules or regs, and he is telling people to sign or he will jack up there rent, he has left it open to his interpations of what his rules are when he feels it suits him, we have asked him many times to let us have the name(S) of the owners, yet he has refused, he has told us we only deal with him. Our neighbor who is missing a leg, is a senior, and just finished with chemo & radiation was given one of these so called lease forms giving him 20 days to paint his home, it is almost the end of nov. This property manager has been in prison, filled bankruptcy a number of times, and screwed a lot of people out of money & homes. The majority of tenets are seniors, disabled, or special needs, and all are afraid of him, my husband is also a disabled vet, I need help yet cant afford to hire a good lawyer, my husband has been laid off, and i drive a school bus. He has come right out to my husband and told him there is nothing we can do, he has all the money and backing to make sure we dont win, I could go on & on about the problems here, i just need some form of help.
