Leaving Apartment Early

My lease expires April 30, 2009, and I've given my landlord more than the proper 60 days' notice that I will not be renewing the lease. I would like to move out of my apartment before April 30, and intend on paying the rent for the remaining months in the lease.

Would I be "abandoning" the apartment if I did so in early April, even though the rent for April would be paid in full? Would I be in viloation of the lease in any way?

The concern with abandonment is that a tenant leaves before the end of their lease and stops paying for the months still owed according the lease.

Since you plan on paying through the end of this lease, this would not be considered abandonment.
