I received a phone call from someone who said they were with Legal Affidavit Services and that I owed a payday loan that I received in Oct 2007. I knew I had received a payday loan back in 2006 and I was paying but due to financial hardships I couldn't pay it. He went on about how they were about to download the forms to have to have me served and that I would be arrested. He asked if I had a lawyer, and of course I told him I didn't. I asked him what Payday loan was he representing or could I get the address and phone number of the company. He told me absolutely no, because that would be a conflict of interest and he couldn't give me that information. The number that keeps popping up on my caller ID is [deleted] and once I tried to pull it up on 411 locate thru reverse phone lookup, it wouldn't give me any info. I am thinking that this could be a collection agency scam. Shouldn't he be able to give me some type of information on the company that he is representing. I keep calling the number back and I get a different person everytime that I call. No one speaks proper english and I can never get a direct answer from them! Can someone please give me some advise on how to handle this, because I am fresh out of ideas!!!!!!!
