My ex wife took let my 14 year old daughter drop out of school with out my consent. She went to the board of education and asked for a home schooling kit. The form signed by the superindent states he is signing off on the request against his recommendation that she stay in school. My ex-wife worked full time, and the home schooling failed. My daughter continued to stay home and babysit her two younger brothers (not my children).
For the next year I sent emails to my daughter telling her how important her education was. My ex-wife told me that she was going to send my daughter to night school and was "waiting for the paper work". She blocked my number from my daughter's cell phone, and I was denied visitation. My ex stated she could not "make Amber do anything Amber doesn't want to do".
After she finally admitted nearly two years later that they had no intention of sending Amber for her GED I hired an attorney. We went to court and my ex stated immediately that she would sign my daughter up for night school. She did and my daughter now has a GED. Because I had to go to such lengths to get her to do the right thing I was wondering if I had a case to get my legal fees back from my ex. Meanwhile my daughter is now 17 has a GED, stays home, never worked and I am still paying child support.
Thank you in advance.
