I am renting a house in Orange County, California, USA. The landlords wanted to renovate and sell the house while I am still living in it. I told them no. They told me they would place a large storage bin in the street to house cabinets for the kitchen. I told them that there wasn't room (zero lot line property on a narrow hillside street) and that I have legal possession. They put it there anyway. It is blocking egress. I may not be able to get my furniture out. They think I'm wrong, and melodramatic. I've checked. I'm correct. Where can I find the exact language in the California real estate statues that forbid landlords from putting storage containers, or anything else relating to future renovatons on or near the property? It is a private road, and they say the HOA rules override California law. Can anyone help?
