Legally binding document?

I have recently found a significant mold problem in our rental house. My landlord has made very poor attempts to clean up the problem and this has resulted in tension. I finally got him to write on a piece of paper that both parties mutually agree to terminate the lease at (specific address) on (specific date). We have both signed the document. Is this legally binding? It is handwritten on a piece of paper.

Sure; you both signed it and it sounds like you covered all bases. This should be a legally binding agreement between the two of you should the issue of such come up in the future.

I'm assuming you both have copies of what you signed, right?
