I recently traded my car in at a local dealership. After a month of having said car 3 of the studs and lug nuts came off while driving down the highway. I took it to a body shop out of state and they told me a few things. 1) they told me the reason the tire came off was because when the dealership did the break work they did not secure the tire. 2) One of the studs had been broken off for awhile which ultimately cause the others to break off. 3) they told me that the dealership did not perform the safety checklist. 4) The rim was bent. basically they told me that the servise dept. at the dealership failed to make sure the car was safe. While in Michigan, I had to pay 250 to get 5 new studs and 5 new lug nuts. They do not even recommend that I drive it for it is not safe. I take the care to the dealership and they refuse to pay the entire bill and they refuse to get the car up to cody. I am still under warrenty. I have reports, pictures ans estimates from 2 different mechanics in michigan. Can I file a law suit?

Sure you can file a lawsuit.
Every red, blooded American above the age of majority can file a lawsuit.

You might also report this incident to the agency in your state that regulates automobile dealers, automobile repairs, and the state attorney general.

Don't expect miracles, though.
