Let a buyer take over pymts on car..they never paid

I let this couple take over payments on my car and for 1 month afterwards all I got from them was bullshit stories about how bad life has treated them. then for the next two months they completely dissappeared and I could not locate them anywhere. . No phone number, evicted from their residence.

So today i finally reported my car stolen as i am still I owe $10 grand on a $16,000 car note.

Can I get into trouble like filing a false police report if they get arrested with the car and make up a bunch of krap?

A mutual friend told me that they created a fake bill of sale stating that I let them take over pymts and it has my signature on it. I'm so stressed out about this..PLEASE HELP!!l

Yeah, because this is a civil matter not a criminal matter-- You need to hire a repo man to go get the car-- you need to think of everyone and anyone that know these people and start skip tracing to get the car back-- HARD LESSON LEARNED
