Liable in Corporate Email (MI/NJ)

I am a VP for a large fortune 300 company and during the course of a discussion about a miscommunication (not on my part), a reply from another VP that said I was "unethical". My boss, my HR director, and other peers were on this email

Without giving all the gory details, if you accept a statement saying I can prove 100% beyond a shadow of doubt that I have not been unethical, and this person knew that, do I have a case for Liable if my company chooses not to pursue this in a manner that satisfies me?

No, because if they believe you are unethical they are entitled to say so, even if they are mistaken.
