My Ex-boyfriend knew my Facebook password and email password, we were together for 9 years. He posted a status on my page saying #karmasabitch and #cheating bastard. He then locked out my account so I could not delete it. He also posted on a comment my new boyfriend made about having someone who cares, he wrote "don't be too happy, I was living with my boyfriend when I meet you, I will cheat on you too, you deserve better". My new boyfriend confronted him saying "that you are posing as my Mary, Facebook has been contacted, if you post any more bad stuff about Mary further legal action will be taking." He then sent me the passwords to my account, I quickly changed everything, he didn't apologize but explained that he was hurt. My boyfriend then received a letter in the mail which talked about all the relationship issues and things I did wrong, like not paying attention to him, not making him a priority etc. The letter was written as if I had wrote it to my new boyfriend, it was signed Karama and my name following in parentheses. Is there any legal action I can take? Can he get in trouble for this?

I don't see much to pursue. I would just do everything in my power not to have any more contact with him.

Attempting any legal action over this would be a complete waste of time and money. If you are feeling harassed you might consider a restraining order, but your best option is likely to just ignore him and not give him the satisfaction of an angry response.

You don't really have a legal issue here but clearly have relationship issues with EX and current BF issues depending on how this impacts your current relationship. Below is a link to a parenting and relationship forum. There you can get advice from others some of whom may have had similar situations

You should let sleeping dogs lie.
No one cares but you and maybe the new boyfriend.
Ignore the old boyfriend, and he'll eventually slither away.
