License suspension questions....

I received a city ordinance violation in early September 2008. I went to trial on Oct. 7th and plead out for court supervision where I received a suspension of my license for 90 days.

I contacted the secretary of state's office recently regarding when I should expect to get notice of this suspension being that I was convicted about a month ago.

I got a reply today stating that basically there is no file on record of any impending suspensions or revocations.

Is a month's time from signed plea to supervision... to any record with the sec. of state ...too short to expect any type of progress?

I'm beginning to get aggravated having been signed to supervision a month ago and still waiting to deal with my punishment. I'd think a punishment like a suspension of drivers license should be enacted in a timely manner. A this rate my supervision will come to an end a month before my license would be reinstated (if i got it taken tomorrow).

Does anyone know if there is any limitations on how quickly the sec. of state must take action on a court decision? I would expect them to at least be processing my information a month after the fact rather than having no record of it.

thoughts?

The secretary of state does not suspend drivers licenses, the Department of Motor Vehicles does. They act when they get around to it after the court send it in. Ninety days is fairly normal. Either turn in your license and get a receipt or send it CRRR.

well i contacted the sec. of st. motor vehicle division. it's been a month since the court plea and still no record on file...i just thought that was odd.

it was a group of probably 200 people that got the same citation/plea. so you'd think they sec. of st. would have information on this by now!

It just sucks that i was given the citation 2 months ago and began supervision a month ago and still and waiting on an pending license suspension, if you going to add a punishment to a crime then enact on it in a swifter manner!

If they have no record of it yet, i think it's fair to say when they receive record of it's probably going to take a few weeks of paper work given the amount of people getting their license suspended..

So ill be damn near done with supervision by the time i get the license suspension. thats outrageous. not only is the punishment excessive for the crime, but making this a long and strenuous process is unfair and should be illegal for them to do.
