I'm 16, 17 years old on July 12th. I want to know if parents not allowing me to get my license is a good reason to get emancipated I am well educated as a junior in highschool I can take care of myself but the issue is that I need a job and my parent won't take me to the job and they won't let me get my license or permit I am very upset and sometimes I get the thought that they don't care as much as they used to. I feel like they are holding me back from making a career for myself

Short answer: No. You cannot get emancipated for that reason (and probably any other you might care to think up).

No, that is not a good reason to be able to get emancipated. You also have to be supporting yourself among other things.

And just so OP knows:
A driving license is a PRIVILEGE, not a RIGHT.

Darling, not being allowed to get a license, or a job, is not even in the same HEMISPHERE as a valid reason to be emancipated, let alone the same ballpark.

Maybe your parents don't want you to get a license or a job currently so you can concentrate on your school work. (though their reason doesn't really matter - you can't get emancipated)
