life estate and who pays property tax

My mom deeded her house and property to me. My sister controls my mothers money and will not pay the taxes. It is my understanding that in CT, the person who has life estate use pays the taxes and insurance. Is this correct? Thank you

I doubt that there is a law on this.

But if you are interested in protecting your share of the land, then pay the taxes.
