How can I get proof that someone with life estate in a property that me and my siblings own, is still alive. We are not allowed to speak with this person and a sheriff's deputy was told incorrect information about her whereabouts.

Check with the department in your state responsible for death records. You can get a copy of the death certificate and file it with the deed. Or you can hire a PI.
