My husband and I have a piece of land that was deeded to us along with his parents and his grandmother has a life estate to the property. Her youngest son has power of attorney over her and she is currently in a nursing home. Can the sone as POA request and force us to move off of the land if he chooses? Do we have any legal recourse if he does attempt to remove us from the land? My husband and I actually bought the property from the middle son, but before we could purchase it, the youngest son required that the grandmother have life time rights to it.

Anyone may sue anybody for anything at any time anywhere.

But this sounds like a load of hot air to me.

Why does he want you to move?

ALSO what exactly is the wording on the reservation of life estate?

It states That the Grantor, for a valuable consideration paid by the grantee, the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged, has and by these presents does grant, bargain, sell and convey until the Grantee in fee simple, subject to a life estate of *******, in and to all that certain lot or parcel of land situate in the ******* township, *** County, North Carolina and more particularly described as follows:
