A family member plead guilty to an F4 Theft charge for stealing 120K from her employer and was given probation. While on probation she stole another 60k from her new employer. She was charged with 2 F3 theft and 1 F3 computer crimes counts. We have been told a plea bargin is in the works but are uncertain what kind of deal they will offer her. Should we expect prision time or is she likely to get some sort of home detention?

Are you Kidding? I'm surprised she didn't get prison time the first time. She is going to prison. Trust me. I'm sorry, but that's just how it is.

Why should she get probation or home arrest? She is a massive thief and anyonbe who hires her is crazy. I predict she is going to prison.

If this were Vegas, I'd go for the long shot and say "NO prison." It seems the jurisdiction she lives in is either weak on prosecutions, or the cases are hard to prove.

But, seriously, I would have expected prison the FIRST time! This tells me that something went amiss .. the original victim went sideways or asked for clemency maybe, or, perhaps the case had some holes and trying to follow the money was not all that easy. This time, she has a pattern of behavior in addition to the offense. I'd say she got WAAAY lucky the first time. Now, she is facing a new and almost identical crime, and she is on probation for the original offense. Of course that also means that the ORIGINAL F4 should also be reopened as she violated probation, and she could go away for BOTH charges.
