Living Trust Inheritance

My wife just received an inheritance from a living trust. She says that my name cannot be added to any of the accounts because of tax purposes. Is this so? How can I get my name added to the accounts so that I will be able to access these accounts without having to go through my wife each time?

It is her separate money so why should she let you access the account? I wouldn't.
