Loss of luggage in Emirates

Emirates Airlines lost my luggage between 11th/12th May and up to now they
have not given me any update, though I have been following up and wrote an official letter. I was on a trip from NY to DRC on official duty, and the
impact of the loss on my assignment is considerable. The painful part is that they have not bothered to update me. Can I sue?

This is covered by the Warsaw Pact. (Google that.)

I doubt that you would get much, even if you won.

I mean...look who you'd be suing. They have more money than the United States!

I will look up that pact. But I thought since they have so much money they would not waste their time in costly legal suits since the compensation I may seek is modest?
