I learned what is Loss prevention in the worst way, I learned in my job by myself

Called me into a room and accused me of theft, sentenced me without the right to defend myself and explain what really happened. Do not let me see the camera, where I saw stealing. I was hard-pressed to say that I did it.

I was very scared, did not understand why so much pressure and misunderstanding.

I Defended me, I told the truth, but the truth was only theirs. It took nearly four hours of discussion, was exhausted and crying a lot, I had no option and signed some papers, and still had to send $ 300.00 to their lawyer. I'm finished, never anything bad happened in my life as this day. I would like to know what I can do, this has happened a few days.

I am innocent.

You didn't have to admit to anything. But, you did. Because it appears you voluntarily gave in to their demands, you helped lynch yourself. You will likely never get a job in retail for years, many years. If ever.

You might also have to fight to get unemployment insurance. Ultimately, the state officials can be a tad more understanding and not so relentless.

You know what you did or didn't do. If you know you're innocent, don't give in to threats, temptations, promises,just stand from in your convictions. You also had no obligation or duty to answer their questions. They would have fired you, but they'd have had to do so without your signed confession that you're a THIEF. I wish you well.

I am a retail theft consultant and actually work both sides. Nothing they did was out of the norm or illegal. As stated above you did not have to admit or pay anything. Fact you have makes you look guilty. Your chances of of UI (if sought) are zero and this also reduces chances of being hired by other companies. There is little you can do at this point. If you have paid the $300.00 ask your former employer if they can change the reason for your termination. Its worth a shot.
By the way if no Police were involved there is no record outside store or any retail theft database they might subscribe to.

I never heard about Loss Prevention, I was surprise, I did no know, what doing, thank you for help me. This situation never happened in my life. What Loss Prevention want? Honest? I am innocent, not gave me chance to prove anything, they want to convict an innocent, so they'll be protecting the heritage of the company. I wrote a letter by my hands I explained the situation and denied the accusation.

Only a court can convict you and there were no criminal charges. You paid Civil Demand it sounds so this should be over
