Lost a small claims court issue.

My wife and I are on social security and have no cash assets other than our home and a family car. We had some landscaping done, had a est of 2000. the bill came to 4000. I paid 2000 and made payn=ments for some of the rest, I called the landscaper and asked for a statment, and got a bill for still over 2000, He was charging me int, at 2percent per month, which I did not know, I stopped paying him , he took me to small claims and he won. What can he do to me now, He still keeps calling me about the balance, and I have no money. What can I do. I thought this would be over when he won, but he still calls me. Please help, can he do anything to the house or car, I dont know what to do Joseph from Buffalo New York

Joseph - you will have to negotiate with him an installment payment plan until the balance is paid in full. Explain to him that your financial situation does not allow you to do any differently.

He wants money now, and says he is going to put a lein on my house, and take money form My checking account, and he wants to know when my social security check s come in so he can get the money out before I can because he can because he has a small claims court lein. Under federal law income from social security cannot be garnished.
