Greetings,
I am writing regarding an unruly neighbor. I had a cable (her cable co. placed across my driveway @ initial move in to this new subdivision-plugged into a box on my property) removed 4 years ago, and on 9/11/08, I won a case against her in doggy court (due to her negligence & her unruly pets).
The day after doggy court (where she was required to pay a fine), she came onto my property and took a box UPS (the company she works for) shipped to me. Initially, she left the box on display in her front window, then she put it on her front porch.
UPS came out (because I called them) retrieved the package from her porch, tried to deliver it to me, and I refused it. I have spoken to various people @ UPS to try to resolve this issue- I find amazing, they all say they will speak with her, or the matter will be handed over to security. I even have written information to confirm this information from a UPS employee. Problem is...this company has done NOTHING to address this imbicile.
What can I do ?

Was the box addressed to you? Was your neighbor perhaps retrieving a package that was left at your residence by mistake?

retrieved the package from her porch, tried to deliver it to me, and I refused it.
If the package WAS addressed to you, then why did you refuse it?

What can I do ?
About what? It is unclear what legal issue you may have.

Thank you for the quick reply.
Now to explain.....box was left at my doorstep ( acc'd. 2 UPS )- had been receiving deliveries from this company without error since 2007, Aug or September-
Refused b/c it initially remained on display inside her home- thru a window- then openly displayed on her porch, all weekend. I did not trust she hadn't tampered with the items.
Wouldn't a UPS employee return to sender, call UPS 4 error of delivery, or notify me ?

No, UPS just drops the items off on the porch all the time-- it depends on what the sender has requested-- i.e. a signature etc...

How do you know if UPS has or has not talked to her about the situation? This is your neighbor whether you like it or not, maybe you need to just move on and she will move on too, or move out-- you two are making each-other miserable-- isn't life hard enough?

I have since requested signature only for all packages....she meets the driver's
at the truck now. I agree we ARE neighbor's; I believe it is just a matter of
privacy, and the simplicity of the golden rule- unfortunately she doesn't. Seems like
she just wants the attention, unfortunately. I DO agree with your logic Theresagail.
I do. Thanks for the supportive, honest input. Much obliged !

April 4, 2009.
Property line marker removed, bent, and small white flags pertaining to electronic dog deterrant system placed on my property.
This is beyond ignorant- this neighbor has been told by the police to stay off of my property. I just want this to stop, before she does get arrested. She has a teenager for Christ's sake !
