Lying About Wages

Hi, I'm new to this forum but I have a very important question to ask of you all. My husband and I are long haul truck drivers. We loved our job until the work slowly began to decline. The boss was giving all of the work to the owner/operaters. My husband started looking for another truck driving job and found one. He called the guy and he told us we would be getting payed by the hour, and they had tons of work. We switched jobs to work with thus guy and it turns out.. he wasn't nothing more than a pathetic liar. That man quit just a couple weeks after hiring us, but when he did.. he stole a truck.. destroyed a bunch of files.. told customers the business shut down and lied about how we were getting payed. To beat it all, he started working for our old employer..using the truck he stole. So now here we are... no work because he was the one who ran everything. We are screwed out of our money. He completely lied about EVERYTHING. This man had all of this planned out and told us any lie he could think of to get us to quit our job, so he could work there. I was wondering if we could sue him for lying about our wages and costing us a bunch of money??

You can sue anyone.
You have nothing to prove what you're alleging.
But, even if you could prove it, the responsibility was on you to do your due diligence before deciding to take his offer.
Your efforts are best spent trying to find more suitable employment, rather than wasting your time with a useless small claims lawsuit.
Be careful when accusing people of crimes, such as STEALING THINGS.
You can get sued for accusing people of crimes when you can't prove it.
It's always best to focus on yourself, improving your life, don't trash another person's life in the process.
I'm sure you're disappointed, but you can get back in the game with some effort.
Last thing, don't look to court to help you, it's always best to avoid the courthouse.
Good luck out there, truck drivers are in demand, you'll be back on the road in no time.

I have proof. I have papers that my husband signed about the pay and text messages as well. True, I know I shouldn't waste my time in a court room.. justice is never truly served there. A hit and miss is the best you could say. Thank you and I'm sure we'll find another job, it's already looking up, but people like him need to be dealt with. This will be my only thread here and last post. I got the answers I needed.
