Lying on a review

Hi I have worked for my current company for 2 years now. Both yearly reviews I have received have been good. The most recent (july 1, 2010) said "Keep up the good work." "You are doing an excellent job." "Don't change a thing." However, as of a couple of days ago (September 4, 2010) I received an email saying in short- 'you suck' from my boss. It had an outline of 5 steps I am to take immediately and who I am to seek out for mentorship. I have 2 weeks to complete and fix everything. There was no ultimatum at the end of the fix everything, but it leaves me with a feeling of 'you're getting fired.' I do realize that is just speculative however. I did go the very next morning to speak with my boss and asked for permission to record our conversation. He allowed it. Unfortunately my phone received a text message so I don't have the complete conversation recorded. I do however, have the section were I asked about the sudden difference from performance review to now. His answer was, "There were a lot of problems at the time of your performance review. I felt that you were not in a good place to fix it then. You were having problems with your son and I did not want to add to the stress." It was a bs answer in my opinion. My son has autism and yes I do frequently have 'problems' with him. The 'problems' several months ago are not/were not any different than any current ones I have with him and I leave home at home. My boss gave me specific people's names whom have complained about my performance and asked me talk with them. When I did, the majority of them were shocked and had no idea what had happened. I am no longer comfortable at this job because apparently they can say yes you are doing a great job, oh wait just kidding. I am looking for other employment, but in the mean time do I have any case against them for lying on a performance review?
