My husband left but I believe he intends to return. I believe he left to pursue a career or something of that sort. My question is, his mail comes here and I have been keeping it for him but I haven't heard from him in months. I think I could contact him if I tried, for instance if he has the same email address. Also I had an email for his parents to try and get ahold of them and find him. I want to wait for him to contact me, but I want to know if at some point it's a legal matter to do some thing with his mail whether return to sender as he is not here now or if I'm responsible to try contact him because I say this is his address, despite the circumstance and that we haven't communicated for months. I know he has the right to his mail, but as far as I understand this is his address still and I'd like to wait to hear from him.

You can simply take all of his mail to the post office and tell that he no longer resides at YOUR address.
You don't know where he is residing.
They'll effect the necessary changes, instruct you as to what you must do, presto, no more of his spam mail will clutter your mailbox.

Good luck.

I wouldn't hold it to wait & hear from him - you may very well not hear from him & he may not come back. Since it has been months, give it back to the Post Office noting that he no longer resides at that address (hasn't for months).
