My nephew from North Carolina was pulled over near the casino the other night, he was not driving his friend was driving his car.

They found rare coins in the car which were reported stolen, burglarized in NC.

He was charged with larceny 2nd degree, and is Korigan prison in mint like awaiting arraignment. He's a young man, only twenty. No previous arrests to my knowledge.

My question: 1. Does ct. Have jurisdiction to charge him with a crime that was committed out of state?

What is the best legal path towards saving him from a felony?

All he can do is remain silent, plead not guilty, ask for a public defender, make bond or wait in jail, KEEPING HIS MOUTH SHUT.

Hard to say what will happen, but its an easier road to travel if he stays silent, waits, and behaves himself while waiting.

He needs a lawyer's help. If he cannot afford one, he should ask the court if they will appoint a public defender. The lawyer or PD will go over his options with him & answer any questions he might have.
