management tip out? over taxing

I work at a resturant called Joeys in tukwilla wa , we are required to tip out our management every night, I talked to someone who said they worked in a state where that was illegal since management is a salary position, I was wondering if that is illegal , l also I am required to claim my total tip amount before my tip outs to the management , bar and cook staff, meaning that I am getting taxed for example 100 dollars when I may only leave with 60 after I tip everyone out, thanks for the advice

Trisha - I must confess that this is the first time I have ever heard that management is tipped. I have seen cases where the busboy, the hostesses and the cooks get tipped, but never management, but then again, it can be restaurant specific. Hope this helps!
