While I was at work, the police came to my dorm room on campus because of a complaint about the smell of marijuana-my roommate was smoking in my room. He let them into our room and they found my vaporizor (which was in plain sight when I left), and my bong and bubbler (both in my closet, which was slightly open). When I got off of work I was called in to be questioned ( I didn't know anything had happened at the time). When I go in, they start to question me and I basically said I don't smoke marijuana and don't know anything about the things they found. One of the cops asked to see my phone after the questioning and I said no. He still took my phone, without my permission, but he didn't look at it. He then said he was going to call the judge and get a warrant to search my phone. After a long while he came in, said I was under arrest and put me in handcuffs, then took and searched my phone. I was charged with a misdemeanor possession of marijuana and paraphernalia in a school zone. I have glaucoma, and my family can't afford insurance. I use marijuana to relieve the pressure in my eyes even though I know it's illegal in Louisiana. Is there anything I can do to fight these charges???
