If you marry someone in Ohio, are you responsible for the debt they bring into the marriage and any of their child support?
A spouse is NEVER responsible for paying child support of the other spouse.
But, a spouse will be harmed by the other spouse's child support obligation.
Why?
Because that spouse will be subject to wage levies and attachments that will diminish the support that person can provide to the new marriage.
That can severely impact your finances, and some people marry just to use the new spouse's assets.
You are never responsible for the prior debts of a new spouse.
That said, again their debts can impact your new marriage.
It might be best to avoid a person with so many financial and emotional issues.
There are plenty of better fish in the sea.
Or, there is no requirement to marry these deadbeats, so you can always just say NO.
Saying NO rarely hurts anyone!!!!
