Married couple soon to be divorced

I am living with a married couple who have now seperated. He is no longer living here, he has since come back to the house to threaten me several times has assaulted me. Because he is on the lease the police cannot do anything about it. We have talked to the apartment manager and she said that he has to write a letter to her to remove his name from the lease and that her and I would have to requalify for the apartment. He refuses to write the letter and I feel that the situation is going to get worse. How do we remove him from the lease. He refuses to pay any rent or child support to his soon to be ex wife. We live in Nevada. Both her and I have jobs and we can requalify for the apartment so that is not an issue. So any help or advice you can give is greatly appreciated.

If he assaulted you why didnt you file a police report and get an RO? An RO woudl mean he would have to leave the apt.

he did assault me and i did call the police but because i was trying to keep him from coming into the apartment the police wouldnt do anything about it because he is on the lease
