I live in Michigan This is kinda confusing. My mother and myself have a mortgage on a home that me and wife want to move into. My mother has no problem with us moving in and taking over payment, & exp, it is in my name also, and she knows I will pay the payments. MY wife wants her off the title before she will move in, eventhough I am on title. The question I have is my wife also has a mortgage on the house she lived in. She has rented it to her sister with the agreement her sister will purchase it within a year. (no contract) This worries my mother, as she said she will not remove her name off our house till my wife has been freed from her obligation. She thinks that because of the "common interest" in the marriage, that if I go to refi our house on my own as my wife does not want to be on this mortgage with me, that one: I can be responsable for wifes house eventhough I am not one title or mortgage and two: if I try to refi even without my wife they take into consideration her debt owed on her mortgage, because she is my wife and there is a common interest, and I probley won't get a mortgage on my own because of the duel debt in homes. She said the best way would be just to live in house and pay the mortgage and once my wife is cleared of her mortgage then we or I can purchase house. I don't know, does this sound right??????????????HELP
