I have a DUI charge that I have been trying to find out the meanings to different words from the courts and attorney's in my case. Here it goes what does Request for discovery/defendant and Demand for sworn complaint mean??

I have a DUI charge that I have been trying to find out the meanings to different words from the courts and attorney's in my case. Here it goes what does Request for discovery/defendant and Demand for sworn complaint mean??

It means there is a request (a) to discover information about the case, e.g. perhaps records you may have that were requested and not provided, and (b) the need to have a complaint (by the plaintiff or the People putting forward a case) sworn that the facts asserted in the complaint are true, e.g. I swear that my claim that Joe took my property on June 24, 2008 is true. It's a claim stated that is made under the penalty of perjury.
