Hello.

A Georgia coporation (medical practice), has a partner, who wishes to seek addtional employment at a hospital emergency room, in order to supplement his income. Would the corporation hold any liability for acts commited, by the partner practicing medicine while performing his duties for the supplemental employer (hospital)?

Thanks so much!

Corporations don't have partners, they have employees, officers and directors, UNLESS perhaps the doctor "partner" has created a written partnership agreement with the corporation but I don't think that's what you are describing.

Depends on a variety of factors, none of which you have revealed. They include, but might not be limited to, the contract with the practice, the contract with the hospital, and the nature of his duties at both.

However, even if the corporation might ultimately be absolved of liability you can be sure that a medical malpractice attorney will sue the doctor, the hospital, and the corporation. The corporation will spend a lot of money (or it's insurance company will) defending against the lawsuit.

Thanks so much for your reply. Even without all the details (which i don't have), your reply has been very helpful.
