The doctor I work for has unusual practices. She recently fired 3 people in one week, and withheld their final paychecks for a month. (we were due to be paid that week) She also charged one employee $350 for changing the locks. (this employee lost her key months ago, and had notified the doctor, nothing was done). Also, if we do not utilize direct pay options we will not get paid. We also do not get pay stubs each pay period. We get a computer generated printout any where from three to four weeks after we have gotten paid; so you can never check to see if you were paid properly. The time cards are collected by the doctor and she does the payroll, and you never see them again. I have tried keeping a copy of the cards, but by the time I get a stub to compare them to its weeks later. Is this legal?
