Shoplifting, Larceny, Robbery, Theft Medical School Admission w/ Petit Larceny Charge when 19

I am applying to medical school w/ a past charge of petit larceny (over 10 ago) for taking approx $10 worth of goods from a store during my first semester of college (NY). I completed community service and the case was dismissed, but the question on the app was have you ever been charged or convicted w/ a misdemeanor or felony. Will this misdemeanor affect my chances of admission to a US or international medical school? Thank you.

People get charged with stuff everyday, dosn't mean they did it. Does your app ask if you did it? Don't lie on your app though, if they pull a background on you and find out you won't get in.
