I'm 18, in the state of Colorado. So about two months ago i was caught with about 45 worth of goods. I went to court and they gave me another date to have a pre trial meeting with the prosecuter to come to an agreement of my punishment. My question is: Do the prosecuters talk to anyone from the store that i stole from before meeting with me, or do they just get my case for the first time, read my paperwork, and just come and talk to me? I am nervous about them meeting with the store and whether the prosecuter saw the surveillence footage or not. Also, what should i do to make the prosecuter be lenient on me? I need tips. I have receipts from everything that i've received from a store from the last two months that i plan on taking to them to show that i am not a career criminal. I am a full time college student with a bright future. Will the receipt thing or the fact that i'm a student matter to them at all? Thanks for the help.

You got that answer in your other question. Here is the quote with that reply

Do NOT deal to DA on your own. Your best option is to go to court when Judge asks you how you plead request a public defender or have your own Attorney present
