Michigan Probate limits

My Dad recently passed and all he had was a $300 car and $1000 mobil home.He did have a $5000 life insurance but the funeral took more than that.He did owe about $4000 in hospital bills and another $4000 on credit cards.It will take whatever I get for the car and trailer to pay for his grave marker.He didn't have a will but I am the only child and next of kin so no one to fight with but the creditors.Do I even have to worry about Probate? I see some states put limits on assets but couldn't find any on Michigan. Thanks

In order to transfer the car and trailer you may need to file for probate. You can call the DMV and ask.
